Project Description
Ferpect is a technology sample illustrating how to integrate XNA Framework 3.0 game components with the visual designers in Visual Studio.

Visual Studio and the .NET Framework include a rich and extensible infrastructure to support visual programming. Ferpect shows how to define

Current Status

April 2009:
I've upgraded the solutions and projects to support VS 2008 and XNA Framework 3.0. The assembly versions have been updated as well, to version 1.1, because they now depend on XNA Framework 3.0. Other than that, it's still a proof-of-concept and not a complete solution.

October 2008:
This project provides a proof-of-concept, and does not build a ready-to-use component library. It may be of interest to tools developers, as a reference for building designers of their own. The only component with visual designer support is MenuScreen, and even that requires tedious manual setup to enable most of its features.

Using the Source Code

Project Information

This project is a miserable failure at an attempt to distract me from my day job working on XNA Game Studio. As soon as I had something runnable, I posted screenshots to my blog to show it off. Immediately, traffic to my blog picked up about 10,000% and I got a lot of requests for source code. I pretty firmly believe that the source code for this project does not explain much on its own, so I started a series of blog posts to explain it instead.

While writing the blog entries, the code itself didn't progress much beyond runnable state. It's not demoable; it's not pretty.

The blog posts are the only documentation I have at the moment, save for the getting started page.
